Laurie Canter produced a brilliant opening round at LIV Golf Indianapolis, firing an 8-under-par 62 to take the early lead at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana.
The Englishman carded a stunning 8-under round on Thursday, August 20, finishing one shot clear of Australian Cameron Smith and Canadian Richard T. Lee after the opening day.
Smith and Lee both opened with 7-under-par 63s, while a large group sits just two shots behind the leader at 6-under 64. That group includes Dustin Johnson, Brendan Steele, Caleb Surratt, Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Joaquin Niemann and Dean Burmester.
Bryson DeChambeau is also within striking distance after opening with a 5-under-par 65.
