I entered U.S. Open local qualifying.

The 2026 U.S. Open is heading to Shinnecock Hills, and I wanted to see if I could earn my way there the same way every other player has to. No invites, no exemptions. Just show up, compete, and shoot a number.

I teed it up at Country Club of York in Pennsylvania alongside some of the best amateurs and mini-tour players in the country, all chasing the same dream.

Could the longest hitter in the world navigate a legitimate U.S. Open qualifier? Watch and find out.

  1. You kept saying, if you MISS here and if you MISS there. Too much focus on the miss. Dance with the girl you brought. Like everyone is saying, it's your superpower, flaunt it!

  2. Why tf are you hitting an iron every time? Why not hit a 3wd or 5wd or hybrid with your distance? Is it just for your ego to be stroked that you can hit a 1 iron the same distance as a driver? Instead of blasting it past other people with a low lofted 3 wd or something? Whos teaching you what to do brother. Painful watch.

  3. By the looks of things your short game and putting is not as good as it could be. Maybe get with a coach to help you iron out the flaws if you are thinking of going the tour route? Im no pro but i do understand stand that getting help where needed does alot to ones self belief and getting over the final hurdle. Nothing but love and respect for you mate, it cant be easy.

  4. Why are you not playing to your strength? You are playing not to make a big score on a fairly open course. You are teeing off with irons yet still missing fairways. Just use your driver or woods and chip and putt.

  5. Bro this is so disappointing to watch, regardless of your score, USE YOUR DRIVER MORE! Stop womping around with those irons off the tee, you could've been right next to or on the green on so many holes. Use your advantage. Play long driver. You could literally would shoot 3 strokes less if you would do that. Makes me sick to see you not play driver more. still, love your content bro, much love, JUST USE DRIVER MORRRRRREEE!!!

  6. Unfathomable that you wouldn’t try and utilise driver or woods. I’d work on hitting that as straight as you can every single day. It’s a HUGE advantage. Closer you are to the hole from the tee, the closer average proximity you will have with approach shots. You will have off days with it whilst you persevere but that’s your best chance imo.

  7. Kyle, you’re doing well. I’m a spine surgeon. Had lots of men teach me. Eventually I decided I knew very well how to do things and correct my technique. No different from golf…(except that golf is much harder). Keep it up.

  8. I'm surprised your caddy didn't stop you when you're lined up to hit it towards the wrong green. I'll also go with the other commenters and say you need to use driver more often. Sure, if it's bad it could be really bad but if you want to punch above your average scoring weight you've got to take risks and hope your driver is on that day.

  9. Keep stats on all aspects of your game and feed them into AI. Work on those aspects that need work whilst maintaining or even improving other aspects.

  10. In the future, maybe try taking on Bryson DeChambeau to a long drive challenge or 18 hole shoot out. I believe he would love that. Great playing and good watching, thank you Kyle.
