Thanks for the post. I'm struggling to break 80 doing an 82 4 times but I'm sure this still applies.
We all have golf knowledge but a teacher can explain that certain things need to be done to sequence it correctly,❤your explanations of concept’s and how it works for individuals! I ran a golf center for 14 years and would buy golf instruction videos by tour players and their instructor’s and wound up with 71 of knowledge before the golf channel started putting the videos on set up fundamentals like this I would put in one of the video’s on grip pull it out and go down the line pulling each video out after instruction on the grip then posture ball position takeaway width of stance for each club in the bag after impact and then to the finish! Everyone said mostly the same thing just a little different aside from taking the club back with just the left arm or the triangle ball position etc and the finish!
its certainly excellent advice. I think for the higher handicap set, its not always a given that a six iron will go straight down the middle. It may shank off into the woods as well, and then you are kicking yourself even more for having clubbed down to do the smart thing, and still paying for the bad result. So the next time you are gonna say might as well hit driver, at least if i hit it clean I will have a good landing spot rather than laying up and already conceding the distance for a tougher second shot. I guess the hard part is sticking with the strategy even when you get the bad outcome, because odds are you still score better following your guidance, but there is a psychological element that creeps in there when you dont have the shot control that a lower handicap has.
