In an interview recorded with Peter in early 2014, Niki Lauda talks about his racing career, his business world and life in general. Niki was World Champion in 1975 and 1977 with Ferrari and in 1984 with McLaren-TAG Porsche; in 1976 he famously survived a fiery crash at the Nรผrburgring; and, away from racing, Niki founded Lauda Air in 1979; and, as non-executive Chairman of AMG-Mercedes F1, in the year of this chat, he guided the team to its first World Championships wins of the hybrid era.

Thanks for uploading this Peter, what a man Lauda was. Still devastated to lose him.
Lovely to hear from Niki (been a while), and always impressed with your sharp memory recall.
I have a feeling he was enjoying the conversation too.
26:15 "Nicest Formula 1 car you ever drove?", 'the one you win in.' Pure Lauda no BS answer. Many others would have to pontificate for a while over that.
UPLOADED NIKI TO MY FOLDER LEGENDS ON MUH CHANNUL.
BECAUSE MODERN LIFE IS NON EXCITING.
It feels like he never left. He always kept it cool and both feet on the ground during the mercedes dominance.

As a boy Niki was the one we watched.
An absolute legend
Thank you Peter.
Super
Two of my heros of F1. Brilliant!
You always ask the most pertinent questions, Peter.. Great interview, as always
Love the straight forwarded and direct answers. I now notice he cuts the questions short, as I do myself, to keep the flow going and not waste more time than necessary.
Not appreciated by everyone however, probably easier when you're a legend
Always love listening to Niki speak.
I was born under the same sign as Niki, a Pisces, and for decades, I had people around me telling me i'm a very difficult person to work with, and i was always badly troubled by that. I could never understand why. I did my job the way i was ordered to, and yet people tell me that's wrong.
Then I watched the interview with Graham Bensinger, and I finally realised, I was not alone, Niki and I are very much the same. Hearing him explain things made me understand that I was ok, just wierd.
I've been a fan of Niki ever since i discovered F1 on TV around 1983, when I was about 10. But I only learnt more about him when he was advisor to Ferrari, then Mercedes, where there are more videos of him on youtube. My only regret, is that i never got to meet him. But the stories he told, motivates me even more now. I always wanted to be a racing driver since i was young, but the closest I could get, is computer games, because it cost too much in my country, and the govt doesn't support any motorsport, and banned it ever since the 70s.
But now i'm working towards racing online. I hope maybe I can have as much success as Niki had.
Thank you Peter, and thank you Niki
