Ben Hogan’s 4 Swing Secrets Every Golfer Should Know

What were Ben Hogan’s real secrets to building one of the greatest golf swings of all time?

In this video, I break down some of the key fundamentals that made Ben Hogan’s swing so powerful, repeatable, and timeless—and show you how you can incorporate these ideas into your own game.

We’ll cover:

Hogan’s grip and why it was so important to his control of the clubface
His stance and setup and how they prepared his body to move
Cocking the wrists to create leverage and effortless speed
The famous Hogan high finish and what it can teach us about releasing the club through the ball

I’ve spent years studying Hogan’s swing, his writings, and the fundamentals behind the motion. I’ve also had the unique experience of portraying Hogan’s swing as his double for Golf Channel. The more I’ve studied his technique, the more I’ve come to appreciate how much we can still learn from the fundamentals he left behind.

You don’t have to copy Ben Hogan’s swing. But you absolutely can learn from it.

  1. Hi Cristo. I’ve had two range sessions practicing a couple of your methods. I’m seeing a big change with a straighter pattern wedge thru 7 iron. Most shots with the longer club’s were off the toe of the club. My balance has improved with every club my finish is more upright and facing the target. Could you offer an explanation regarding my hits off the toe?

  2. Only a fool would want Hogans swing unless they have his build, his issues, his equipment for the time and time to hit 500 balls a day to maintain the swing according to the man himself. It's a fools errand
