Have you ever wondered how **Rory McIlroy** generates so much power while still driving the ball so straight?

In this video, I break down a fascinating conversation where Rory explains his driver swing to **Tiger Woods**, then I head to the range to test those same concepts for myself.

I’ll show you:

* How Rory creates incredible consistency with his driver
* Why using your hands and arms too much actually costs you distance
* The simple body movements that produce effortless speed
* How to hit longer, straighter drives with more solid contact

If you’ve been struggling with slices, inconsistent contact, or feel like you’re leaving distance on the table, these are some of the same concepts the best drivers of the golf ball use every day.

Give these drills a try at the driving range, and let me know in the comments how they work for you!

▶︎ ABOUT ZACH ALLEN ◀︎
Hi I’m Zach, thank you for visiting my channel. My goal here is to help you play the best golf of your life while having as much fun as possible!

I’m a PGA-certified golf instructor and have been coaching since 1997. I’ve been named a Golf Digest “Best Young Teacher,” a GolfTips Magazine “Top 25 Golf Instructor,” and Southern California PGA’s Teacher of the Year. I’ve worked with golfers of all ages and levels, from 4-year-old beginners on up through touring professionals. My students have included nationally-ranked juniors, touring pros, celebrities, and CEOs, but wherever you’re at on your golfing journey, my goal is always the same… to help YOU play your best golf!

I started playing competitive golf at a young age, ultimately reaching #3 in the California junior golf rankings – just behind another promising young golfer named Tiger Woods. I also played collegiate golf at the University of Southern California and professional golf on the Omega Asian Tour.

I work with students in-person at my studio in Valencia, CA, and teach golfers all around the world through my YouTube channel and on my website: ballstrikingblueprint.com. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a comment if you have any questions or would like to get in touch!

  1. Better to envision that you’re turning your left Lat connected to the arm but the feeling of the Lat with shoulder going down with good rotation

  2. Fantastic video Zach.

At my age I'm not sure how much of this I can incorporate (69), but I can really see this helping me to be a little more consistent through impact (the left arm part of this lesson).

I hit my driver fairly well, but I can pull it, draw it and fade it with what feels like the same swing. Also I'm getting either the toe or the heel to often (can feel it in my hands, ball still goes a decent distance and almost always in the fairway). Going to have to take that foot spray with me to the range.

  3. I need a lot of help with this. I believe the tee shot is the most important shot for shooting low scores. If it's off line, big numbers appear. When I have a good day of driving, I can break 80. If not, I'm in the high 80s. Such a fickle game. I appreciate the content. Got more work to do besides the newly found iron swing.

  4. Been going through your videos, “I Wish Someone Had Shown Me This Driver Secret Sooner” especially, that’s the kind of thing people actually go try. Noticed you’ve got zero Community posts though.
What I build is a sequence, quick tips, questions, polls, timed around whatever video’s live, so people are learning and engaging between uploads instead of just waiting for the next one. Given how technical and results-driven your coaching already is, that back-and-forth would fit naturally and give people a reason to check in.
Happy to mock up 2-3 concepts based on your recent videos if you want to see what it’d look like.
    Worth a look?

  5. Great video. I would suggest you tee your driver higher if you want to get a positive angle of attack. To my eye you tee it too low and your brain automatically makes you go down to hit it. Tee it high and let it fly!
