MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Another of the world’s top golfers has committed to Memphis.
McIlroy, the world’s second-highest ranked golfer, will play in the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
He’ll be one of 70 of the top players competing for the FedExCup, with Memphis representing the first of three FedExCup Playoffs events.
McIlroy did not compete in last year’s event, making this his first appearance in Memphis since 2024.
He’s joined by Scottie Scheffler, the top-ranked golfer, who announced his intent to play last month.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship returns to TPC Southwind August 12-16.
Scheffler tied for third place in last year’s event, which was won by Justin Rose.
