PREECEVILLE — Robert Forshner, of Calgary, son of the late Dr. Reg Forshner, grew up and graduated from Preeceville High School. He has always had a passion for all sports, but golfing was his main passion. His passion has led him to be a Class ‘A’ Life Professional of the PGA of Canada, over a span of 40 years. He has played many courses around the world and continues to golf in his retirement years.
Forshner had dedicated his career to helping other players discover the simplicity and beauty of motion, blending deep knowledge of fundamentals with love of the natural world, helping golfers to play with the freedom of effortless power.
Forshner helped and advised the Preeceville Annie Laurie Meadows golf committee in the creation of the nine-hole golf course.
“Whenever I am back in Preeceville visiting my sister Bev, I always make sure to pack my golf clubs, and I look forward to playing the course every time I am here,” he said. “The course has a natural beauty with a variety of golf holes and is simply just fun and enjoyable to play. The course is well maintained, which adds to the entire golfing experience,” stated Forshner.
He has also written a book, The Natural Swing: How the Motion and Nature Create Effortless Golf. It is scheduled to be released by the end of August. The Natural Swing offers a revolutionary approach to the game.
Grounded in the universal laws of motion and inspired by nature’s effortless rhythms, this book guides golfers of all levels to stop fighting their swing and discover the simplicity already within them. The book teaches how to: harness gravity, inertia, balance, and leverage to achieve a fluid, repeatable swing; eliminate tension and overthinking by returning to natural movement; practice more efficiently and play with greater freedom; trust your swing under pressure and enjoy the game like never before.
