If you only hit 7 iron 150 yards, watch this!

If you only hit your 7 iron 150 yards, watch this. The reason you can’t hit your irons consistently may be because you’re trying to do the very thing most golfers are told to do. In this video, I’ll show you why you’ve been working on the wrong thing in your golf swing and what you should focus on instead.

This simple concept can help you strike your irons cleaner, hit the ball further, and finally understand what creates great ball striking.

If your iron play has stalled, this is a lesson you need to see.

  1. Alex, Im 60yrs old, swing driver at 105, iron swing 95. I only have 1 driver a 3wood, 2 hybrids & 4-sw. 3 wood & hybrids get the 105 at times. Feel player & too physical unloading every shot.
Its like guys chipping every shot with a 60?? I still use 9-sw. 2 handicapper. Love your content!

  2. Consider moving the ball back in your stance to start this drill. In the next few practices move it up gradually while keeping your hand ahead. Would that lead to the shots you are hitting without feeling overwhelmed and going back to bad habits?

  3. Interesting video, certainly has made me think.
Does hitting the 7 iron like that go much lower than when your don’t have as much shaft lean?
Also if you move the distance forward that you hit each club, does that have a negative effect when you are left 100 metres ( sorry I am in Australia) as you haven’t got a club left for that range?
I find it a difficult to stand over a shot if I am thinking that I have got to absolutely cream this to get the distance.
I have been putting into my game your advice about playing to the back of the green. I love your tips I only wish I had known about you and come for lessons when I was in the UK
