Making a rare L.A. County appearance, President Donald Trump is set to speak at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles Tuesday.
Addressing what the White House describes as “failed Democratic leadership” in California, Trump is scheduled to speak on how the state has neglected a wide range of issues while highlighting his administration’s accomplishments.
The speech will take place at the Republican National Committee fundraising dinner, where Trump is expected to address topics such as taxes, fraud and “protecting illegal immigrant drug dealers, rapists, and murderers,” according to White House Spokeswoman Olivia Wales. Trump is also expected to criticize Gov. Gavin Newsom’s policies.
The RNC roundtable is set for 6:30 p.m. this evening, with Trump’s arrival expected this afternoon before the dinner begins. Trump’s presence and travel route may create temporary flight restrictions and traffic delays in the South Bay area. There are roughly 20-30 miles between the airport and Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles, and it is unknown how he plans to travel that distance.
This is the second time Trump has visited California since his return to office in early 2025. The previous presidential visit was to observe the Southern California wildfires, where the initial camaraderie between Newsom and Trump turned to criticism over time.
Newsom has not publicly commented on Trump’s appearance, but his press office released a statement on X rebutting the claims Wales made against the governor’s handling of fraud, taxes and crime.
“Donald Trump is coming to California for the first time in 18 months — not to deliver the federal disaster aid Los Angeles wildfire survivors have been waiting for, but to raise money for himself and attack California with the same tired falsehoods,” the statement reads.

Trump is not planning on staying in California for long, as he is set to fly to Las Vegas this evening. Tomorrow, Trump is scheduled to speak at the Red Rock Casino at 1:30 p.m.
