Davis Riley took a one-shot lead into the final round of the 2026 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club, then watched it slip away — all while his wife Alexandra Patton waited at home, three weeks from giving birth to their first child.
After 10 missed cuts in 20 starts and a fall from 53rd to 180th in the world ranking, Davis Riley shot a bogey-free 63 on Saturday, holing a 54-foot birdie putt on the toughest hole of the week. Then he made an emotional admission about his wife: “I owe her everything.”
Sunday brought three bogeys in six holes, a lost ball in the fescue on No. 4, and a closing 70. Michael Thorbjornsen won his first PGA Tour title at 18-under. Rickie Fowler’s two-year sinus infection was revealed hours before the final round.
