A 17-year-old academy kid beat Cole Palmer and Estêvão in Chelsea’s pre-season bleep test. That’s not a rumour — it actually happened, and it’s just one reason Xabi Alonso took five of these youngsters on the Asia tour.
We count down the five Chelsea academy players ready to break out, from Calvin Diakite’s mature left-back play to Olutayo Subuloye’s centre-back passing range, Landon Emenalo’s versatility, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen’s screamers, and the number one who’s already made Champions League history. Along the way we cover the under-18s national final win over Man City at Stamford Bridge, plus honourable mentions like Shim Mheuka and Genesis Antwi.
Which of these five do you reckon has the biggest breakout coming? Drop your pick in the comments, and subscribe for more deep dives into everything Chelsea.
