(KMZA)–A Nemaha County couple is challenging the community to help improve Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca.
Jim and Patricia Koch have announced a $50,000 matching gift through the Nemaha County STEP Foundation. If donors contribute $50,000 to the Spring Creek Golf Course Improvement Fund during Match Day on Friday, August 28th, the Kochs will match that amount dollar-for-dollar.
Meeting the challenge would generate $100,000 to improve the golf course’s cart paths, making the course safer and more enjoyable for golfers and visitors.
The Kochs say Spring Creek has been a special place for their family and the community, and they hope the matching challenge inspires others to give toward a project that will benefit Nemaha County for years to come.
Spring Creek General Manager Tony Altenhofen says the golf course is more than just a place to play golf, serving as a gathering place for families, friends and tournaments that bring visitors to the area. He says the matching gift gives everyone an opportunity to be part of a lasting improvement.
Donations can be made in person at the Seneca Free Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 28th, or online throughout the day here.
Every dollar donated on Match Day will go toward the cart path improvement project.
