Johnny Miller Warned Us About Tiger Woods… And Everyone Thought He Was Crazy

Tiger Woods, Johnny Miller, Jack Nicklaus

In 2004, Tiger Woods was unstoppable. He’d already won eight majors before turning 29. He’d completed the Tiger Slam, consecutively winning all four major championships – something no golfer had ever managed before him. Golf writers weren’t debating whether he’d catch Jack Nicklaus’s record of eighteen majors anymore. They were debating how far past it he’d finish. Twenty-two. Twenty-five. The number kept climbing because nobody could find a reason it wouldn’t.

In today’s video we look at Johnny Miller Predicted EXACTLY How Tiger Woods Would Fall Apart. Keep watching to see how Johnny Miller predicted that Tiger Woods would fall short of Jack Nicklaus – including the exact injury that would eventually change his career.

On our golf channel Golf Legacy, we explore golf documentaries, PGA Tour, LPGA Tour stories, and golf swing mastery. Stay tuned for the latest U.S. Open golf highlights and golf tips that define the spirit of the game we love: golf.

  1. Miller wasn’t guessing. Miller had a reverse “C” at the finish of his swing which shortened his career.

He knew from his experience and medical advice that L-5, S-1 fusions are common for aggressive fast swingers who don’t finish with the spine in vertical alignment.

Tiger made matters worse by not changing the biomechanics of his swing after his first microdiscectomy…continuing to torque his lead knee and low back.

Tiger had the short game to win several more majors if he had backed off the torque force and played another club or two compared to his competitors. Sad case of destroying a magnificent gift by physical abuse- and Johnny saw it coming.

  2. I mean probably 95% or more of low back injuries likely involve L5-S1 disc space so that wasn’t really a prophecy. Even Jack said there would be a lot of good fortune needed over the course of a career because so many things could go wrong.

  3. Far too many falsehoods here… In 2003 and 2004, Tiger was finishing rebuilding his swing. The dominant player was Vijay Singh, not Tiger. So no, he did not have multiple wins during those years…

  4. The human body is a gift on loan from God. It's a precious luxury vehicle. Many GIFTED athletes think it's theirs to abuse. Youth are also tempted with shortsightedness. Time teaches is all…
Oh but that season leaves pleasant memories😁🏌🏽‍♂️

  5. There was a saying many years ago by a great golfer of his time Dr. Cary Middlecoff who once said “god only gives you but so many swings”. And I guess Tiger is down to the remaining grains of sand in his hourglass.

  6. Gold insiders probably knew of Tiger’s off-course habits before we all got to know. That’s why Miller knew there’d eventually be problems in his personal/marital life🤷🏻‍♀️
