  1. I think it was a tough position to be in because the grass had already been stepped down. It wasn’t standing upright anymore, so for him to get back to his ball without stepping there, he likely would have had to either jump over that area or take a much wider route around it. Plus, when Bryson DeChambeau stepped on the grass, it appeared to spring back anyway.

  2. "But everyone else does it" is such a loser talking point. Even if everyone does it, which they don't, it doesn't absolve Bryson from breaking the rules. Wyndham Clark could have been called for a penalty in the U.S. Open for improving his lie, but he wasn't. Professional golfers know how far they can push the rules, and Bryson went too far and got caught. Bryson threw a temper tantrum and said if it was a penalty, he might take his ball and go home. Just like an immature 10 year old would.
