Fermanagh is set to welcome more than 250 of the world’s leading junior golfers from over 40 countries when the prestigious Champion of Champions World Championship returns to Lough Erne Resort.
The three-day tournament will take place from July 21-23, 2026, with competitors aged 6 to 19 battling it out across a range of age categories at the Nick Faldo-designed championship course. The event is recognised as the world’s biggest Junior Champions Invitational.
Organisers say the championship has become one of the most sought-after events in junior golf, with places in the 2026 tournament selling out in just 17 minutes. The competition is managed by MG Pro Golf, which oversees a network of qualifying events around the world.
The championship is expected to provide a significant boost for the local tourism and hospitality sector, with players, coaches and family members travelling to Enniskillen from across Europe, North America, Asia and beyond. Local businesses are expected to benefit from the influx of visitors.
A spokesperson for the tournament said:
“Our goal is to bring together the top junior golf champions from around the globe and give them a once-in-a-lifetime experience at one of Ireland’s finest championship venues.”
Lough Erne Resort has previously hosted major international events, including the G8 Summit and Rory McIlroy’s ‘Duel at Lough Erne’, and organisers believe the setting adds to the appeal for young golfers hoping to test themselves against the best players in their age groups.
The event is open to spectators and is being promoted as a family-friendly sporting occasion for golf fans across Fermanagh and the wider region.
Looking ahead, organisers have already confirmed that the 2027 Champion of Champions World Championship will return to Lough Erne Resort from July 20-22, 2027, underlining the venue’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international junior golf further.
