This was a lot bigger at the time and the committee actually bent the rules to keep Tiger in the event. At the time the correct decision was to DQ him; instead, they hit him with a 2 stroke penalty. He should have been docked another 2 strokes by the way, 2 for improper drop and 2 more for incorrect scorecard which at the time was a DQ.
Lexi Thompson in comparison was hit with a 4 stroke penalty for improperly marking her ball if you remember and that happened 4 years later. 2 shots for the improper placement and 2 more for the incorrect scorecard. This was after they removed the DQ penalty in the rule book.

Bryson is a whiny bitch but, he is also unquestionably a way better human being than Tiger.
