2015 Open Championship, St Andrews — a week so battered by weather it spilled into Monday, only the second time in 155 years. Marc Leishman was already in the clubhouse at 15-under. Zach Johnson stood on the 72nd green at the home of golf with 30 feet between him and a playoff.
He rolled it in. Louis Oosthuizen then holed the birdie he needed on the last to make it three.
In the four-hole playoff, Johnson birdied the 1st and the 2nd. All three bogeyed the Road Hole. On the last, Oosthuizen had 12 feet to force sudden death — it caught the left edge and stayed out. Johnson, a self-described normal guy from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was in tears.
