PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) – A golf fundraiser at Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion raised money for Sarpy County Crimestoppers on Friday.
The event was hosted by the Sarpy County Sheriff and the Crimestoppers team.
The fundraiser helps create a strong base for the Sarpy County Crimestoppers tips that come over the course of the year.
Sgt. Matt Barrall of the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department said the program has grown since he joined the board.
“When I first got on the board, I think we paid out approximately $2,000 in tips, and now we’re up to over $6,000,” Barrall said.
Barrall said the tips have helped investigators close a range of cases.
“We’ve solved crimes related to felony assaults, shootings, sex offender violations,” he said.
