We Played the HARDEST Open Course in the World (Carnoustie)
Carnage at Carnoustie — we took on the hardest Open Championship course in the world, and it ate all four of us alive.
Tayte and Trevor came back to beat the scores they shot here years ago; Trevor’s son Sawyer and our buddy Evan came along for the beating.
The stakes were real: if Trevor doesn’t beat his old score, Tayte shaves his beard — however he wants. The razor comes out at the end.

Did u guys play any of the other 2 courses i played the burnside monday and there were 2 groups of 3 that let me through that looked similar to you lads the conditions were brutal with the wind

I think I know what's going on with Trevor's handicap. I believe his scorecards but he plays a lot at Walnut Creek which benefits his handicap. Walnut Creek has an inflated course rating/slope driving down his handicap with scores in the 80s. How I arrived at this conclusion is looking at the course rating, slope, tee distances, and elevation of some courses.
Showing my work — Carnoustie is a 75.2 CR/139 slope/6945 yards/@ sea level, the members tees @ Augusta National is 71.0 CR/130 slope/6365 yards/250 elevation and Walnut Creek is 72.0 CR/135 slope/6968 yards/5,325 elevation. These places are worlds apart in terms of difficulty (tighter fairways, tougher greens, no elevation, more bunkers & hazards) but the CR/slope and there the handicap system says they're basically the same.

Thanks for posting, this is a very tough course, and everyone weighing in on handicap numbers should also consider that outside of the course and conditions you also have a camera on you. I think these scores were respectable under the conditions, and unless you have played this course with cameras trailing, you probably don’t have any idea of the difficulty level.
