I Played the World’s Youngest Female Scratch Golfer

Arabell is 11 years old. She’s been playing golf for barely two years. And she’s already one of the best young golfers in the world, a plus-4 who bombs her driver, has an incredible short game, and just set a Drive, Chip and Putt distance record at Augusta National during Masters week.

In this match, Performance Golf CEO Brixton Albert, a scratch golfer himself, takes Arabelle on in a 9-hole match play at Fort Lauderdale Country Club. No strokes given. She plays the forward tees, Brixton plays the back, and the whole thing is part of a bigger question Performance Golf is chasing: whether you’re 80 or 8, does age actually matter in golf?

Between shots, Arabelle opens up about practicing twice a day every single day, the daily speed training that has an 11-year-old carrying it 238 yards, her two hole-in-ones in tournament play, shooting 5-under, and the mindset that lets her shake off a bad shot and move on like a tour pro. Brixton picks her brain on work ethic, pressure, and what parents get wrong about gifted kids, and her answers are wise beyond her years. The match stays tight all the way to a double-value final hole.

  6. Not sure why people say youโ€™re not a scratch as your swing rhythm stays consistent. Some people just donโ€™t understand the handicap system too. This little lady has a future.

  14. You should come play the Pepsi little people tournament in Quincy il Rory played her in 2002 I won it twice in 86 and 88 wish I would of pursued it farther then what I play now best of luck to her

  17. I used to play a lot of golf with my dad when I was younger. I never got really good at it though. Bogey golf is where I ended up. I stink at the game but sure do enjoy watching it. I still have my own set of clubs. I may get back out on the course and just play for the fun of it. I have a couple friends who play and invite me to play every now and then. we shall see man.

  18. Yes Arabell is is only eleven years old, she strikes the ball exceptionally well and her composure is way beyond her age but there is no way that she is scratch, never mind plus four handicap.

  21. Love watching you guys playing together. This little girl is insanely good. I wish I could hit my drive 230 yards onto the fairway every time lol. She says putting is the worse part of her game and she rolls to ball within tap in every time. He speed control is great.
