Spring won the 16th to put them 1-up and Stewart slotted a clutch four and a half-metre par putt on 18 to get them home.
No 2 seeds Matt Henwood and Mike Christophers went overtime against Dudley Meadows and Nigel Jones.
Christophers birdied the 19th hole, but Jones’ par getting a shot kept them in it, albeit for one more hole – Henwood and Christophers winning on the 20th.
Their semis opponents are Alex Kirkpatrick and Gray Clapham, who blew past 2025 runners-up Paul Rickard and Brad Morgan 5 and 4.
Kirkpatrick anchored the win, throwing a rash of consecutive pars at their opponents in a brilliant short-game display as he and Clapham won six of seven holes, and threatened to win it on the 12th.
The Barns-Graham Cup semis are on Saturday, along with the Bryan Cup and Barns-Graham Cup Plate semis.
Pete Anderson (3-handicap) and Marcus Gray (2) – the lowest-handicapped duo in the 75-year history of the Barns-Graham Cup – will be lolly-scrambling shots to Brian Read (32) and Murray Smith (33) in their Bryan Cup semi.
Stephen Francks and Dean Robertson lie in wait for the winners of the quarter-final between Ross Morley/Craig Palmer and Peter Clayton and Laurie Owen.
Richardson closes out with hole-in-one
Nick Richardson knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of a shot “heard round the world”.
On Saturday, however, he was the deliverer.
Richardson finished his Bryan Cup men’s pairs match in perfect style … with a hole-in-one.
Playing father and son Shannon and Rua Ratima, Richardson sank his 9-iron tee shot on the 121m sixth hole.
He and Matt Sutton were taking on the Ratimas in a round-of-16 match that started on the 10th hole.
Richardson’s ace sealed a 4 and 3 victory and came several years after he himself was the victim of an odds-defying shot.
Soon after achieving his first hole-in-one – also on the sixth hole – Richardson was involved in a club competition match against Andrew Higham that went to sudden death.
On the first extra hole – the par-five first – Higham holed a 3-iron for an albatross or double-eagle two … one of the rarest achievements in the game.
Richardson and Sutton’s Bryan Cup run ended in the quarters on Sunday. They lost to Marcus Gray and Pete Anderson on the 19th – Gray making birdie.

The Te Kanawa/Barns-Graham double is still alive for Matt Henwood.
A dual member of the Electrinet Park and Poverty Bay clubs, Henwood has advanced to the final and semi-finals of the clubs’ most prestigious men’s pairs championships.
Henwood and Mike Christophers, also a member of both clubs, made the semis of the Barns-Graham Cup at the Bay on Saturday.
The following day, Henwood and Craig Christophers – Mike Christophers’ brother – claimed a final berth in the Te Kanawa Cup at the Park with a 3 and 2 matchplay victory over Josh Adams and Shaun Frame.
Henwood and Christophers are the reigning Te Kanawa Cup champs and face Josh Hayes and Stephen Phillips in the final.
Hayes and Phillips defeated Darren Kahukoti and greenkeeper Pete Tamatea 4 and 3 in their semi.
Should Henwood achieve the Kanawa Cup/Barns-Graham Cup double, he would create golfing history.
It is understood only one player has won both – Allan White – but Henwood would be the first to do it in the same year.
The finalists in the subsidiary cup finals have also been decided.
Mike Christophers and Mat Downie play Derek Craven and Glen McKinnon for the Turanganui Cup.
Bailey Matoe and Chris Fox play Dave Harrison in the Fletcher Cup final.
