Most golfers over 40 believe losing distance is caused by a lack of flexibility. In this lesson, Karen Davis explains why the real issue is often how you pivot. By learning a simple lead hip twist and sequencing your body correctly, you’ll create a bigger turn, store more energy, and generate effortless power without feeling like you have to swing harder.
What you’ll learn
• Why flexibility isn’t the real reason you lose distance
• The lead hip twist that unlocks a bigger backswing
• How to create more coil without straining your body
• Why pivoting correctly creates effortless power
• The setup adjustment that instantly improves rotation
• How to stop locking up your trail side
• Why senior golfers should pivot differently

🔥 Golfers over 40… this one’s for YOU.
If you’ve ever felt like your flexibility is holding you back, let me stop you right there — it’s not.
Today’s video introduces the Lead Hip Twist, a shockingly simple move that helps you store more energy, deliver it on the correct line, and create speed without losing control… even if you’re 40, 50, 60+.
I’m a little excited about this one.
⭐ WHY THIS VIDEO MATTERS
Most “hit it farther” tips either:
Work once and send your ball into the next county, or
Don’t work at all.
This technique is different. It gives you distance AND accuracy — the holy grail for golfers who want more power without sacrificing control.
⭐ WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Store More Energy
Deliver It on the Correct Line
Create Speed Without Losing Control
And the best part? You don’t need to be flexible… you just need to pivot differently.

That's classic Count Yogi principle .

Worth a research . Cheers 👍
Thank you! This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen so far. I’ll try it asap. 💕
Karen, this kinda what i've been doing and when i'm on my golf is really good and it works for quite a while but then for some reason I lose it and i'm back to hacking at it. do you turn back like you say and then swing down with the arms before the body turns down to give the arms and club a bit of an early start on the body tuning back forward? thnx for the info and help.
Hi karen, fantastic video.can i ask if this is the same with irons, thank you.
I just got on the course today and tried this and wow!!!!! An additional 40o to 50 yards! And the ball went straight!

As a beginner old golfer this method sound good, thank you Karen for such a good clear vid.
what a great explaination of golf swing efficiency.
Well done!
Have your right foot outward and a little behind. The rest follows.
Good video. Lots of good content.
Excellent Instruction. Thank you Karen.
Excellent presentation, can’t wait to work on it.☮️
The right leg has to straighten slightly to allow the hips to rotate and hip rotation encourages shoulder rotation – but you shouldn’t deliberately try and “ turn “ that causes golfers to lose their centre of mass ( body wise ) to the ball and ruins low point consistency and therefore ball contact- Less turn with more center solid strikes is far more important for the recreational golfer- you have some good points but please don’t make them too deliberate- every golfer has some natural ability if only golf coaches would let them use it
You have a great swing Karen. Would love to be able to swing the club like you do.
Thanks Karen. I appreciate the insights.
I assume when you use the word “back”, you mean away from the target. Your lead hip is turning toward the ball.

Great video Karen. You appear to have a slightly closed stance, is that part of your set up?
I like this ! Thank you
C'est mon secret j'ai 67 ans et je tape la balle encore a 260 yards et je touche les fairway a 80 % en été ,mes amis font le mauvais swing que vous décrivez et cela fait un swing de bras donc pas précis du tout
The gentleman in the right screen looks like his back is really stressed at the top of the swing, but your back in the same position looks a lot more relaxed.
I’ve been wondering why my short swing baby draw was only a 210 drive and when I try to swing faster with the arms it turns into a pull draw. I am 70 and turning on my right hip is a tad painful. I can’t wait to do the lead hip twist.
Perhaps I do not understand the meaning of the word "effortless". It takes effort for me to make a full golf swing, especially with a driver.
