The Grade 2 Suburban Stakes features one of the deepest and most competitive fields to start the Saratoga meet. In this preview, I look at all 11 contenders, analyze the race architecture, project the pace scenario, and identify which horses are poised to take advantage on Saturday, July 4th, America’s 250th birthday.

🌍 Phileas Fogg, last year’s Suburban Stakes winner, looks to defend his title after being disqualified from the Jockey Club Gold Cup.
📚 Antiquarian seeks redemption after defeating Phileas Fogg in the Jockey Club Gold Cup but finishing behind him in last year’s Suburban Stakes.
🌎 Hit Show returns after capturing the 2025 Dubai World Cup, looking to rebound from a troubled trip in his latest start.
🇺🇸 Stars and Stripes, trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, couldn’t have a more fitting name as America celebrates its 250th birthday weekend.
⚔️ Original Sin defeated Hit Show in the Blame Stakes, although Hit Show endured significant trouble that day, making this rematch especially intriguing.

Parchment Party will EAT UP this 10 furlong distance. I also like Forged Steel, this year's Hollywood Gold Cup winner at 10 furlongs, and Stars and Stripes, who has won his last two races this year at 9 1/2 and 9 furlongs. Have a wonderful July 4th weekend, Maura!
Along with the Ortiz brothers, I love, love Kenneth Carmouche so in this race I'm pulling for Phelias Fogg.

Hi , I hit the LIKE Button & Subscribed , plus already receive your very informative NEWSLETTER. This race , being an amateur and only handicapping Stakes Races , to me is wide open. I will use HIT SHOW , FORGED STEEL , & TIZTASTIC in my Exacta Box and Trifecta Box but it would not surprise me to see all three out of the money with this field. I found it harder to find horses to TOSS than keep , lol. I am in this to have fun handicapping and trying to find some value. Great Podcast .
