The 2026 Titleist AVX is back, but is it still the best premium golf ball for players looking for lower spin and more distance? In this review, I put the latest AVX through my full testing process to see how it stacks up against the competition.
We’ll cover:
⛳ Driver distance and ball speed
⛳ 9-iron performance
⛳ Greenside spin and control
⛳ Feel and durability
⛳ Accuracy and consistency
⛳ Who should (and shouldn’t) play the 2026 Titleist AVX
The AVX has always been marketed as the softer, lower-flying alternative to the Pro V1, but does the 2026 version improve enough to justify the premium price? I’ll share all of my launch monitor data, on-course impressions, and whether this ball deserves a spot in your bag.
If you’re trying to decide between the AVX, Pro V1, Pro V1x, Tour Soft, or another premium golf ball, this review should help you make the right choice.

Ready for the legato review with new clubs. Also I hear they are coming out with new ball soon.
I’m just not a Titliest fan. Tried to like them for 30 years still don’t
Good stuff Nick ! It definitely has some hard core fans but unfortunately at that price point most people will cough up $10 more for the Pro V1 !
I have heard good things, and great to see this because I belive you do exactly what you aim to do, best golf ball reviews on the Internet, so I know what I can expect from it should it suit my game. What I like is even if you dont get on with them you still recommend them to a different type of golfer that may benefit from it.
Hey bud I’ve noticed you’re gaining weight.. lock in and out the spoon down
Mid/high flight is always the farthest off the tee, especially with 2000-2500 spin. There's a reason Rory bombs em high.
Love the AVX and the Velocity.
