The Central Arizona College Foundation will host its annual golf tournament on Thursday, Nov. 5, with all proceeds supporting the George Young Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship honors the legacy of George Young, who joined Central Arizona College in 1971 as an instructor and cross country/track and field coach. In 1973, he was promoted to athletic director and served the college with distinction until his retirement in 1996. A four-time Olympian, Young earned Olympic medals in 1960, 1964, 1968, and 1972. He died on Nov. 8, 2022.
The tournament will be held at Mission Royale Golf Club, 11 Mission Parkway in Casa Grande. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
