I'm 80 and shoot between 82-92. I've played with every brand of ball and even some good ones from the driving range. I play the same with all of them. The only difference I see in them is in putting. I putt better with a softer ball. My drive is about 190-200 yds total with a prov 1 or something I find in the rough. The bottom line is not how far you can hit the ball but how you play around the green.
The science and premise behind your compression theory has been proven false 100%. The ball test of MyGolfSpy proves this. If you use soft balls they don’t spin. You left all that out. High compression balls go further and spin more at every swing speed. The only decent point you made is on value. Also low compression balls lack green side spin. Overall the only reason to play a soft ball is feel preference. Otherwise get another compression ball that’s cheaper like Maxfli or Vice.
Srixon ultisoft is great for seniors with slow swing speed .At £20 a dozen have not found a better all round ball 😊
There is no such thing as a Seniors Ball. There is also no such thing as a Ladies Ball. They may be marketed that way but compression has absolutely nothing to do with clubhead speed. It is a feeling preference. If matching your club head speed to a particular compression then whatever club you used to measure your clubspeed would be the only one that worked.
I’m 70. Driver swing averages 82. I play the Srixon Q Star Tour. I researched the lowest compression ball with a urethane cover. Works for me!
Im in my 60s and when Wilson discontinued the Wilson Zip golf balls a few years ago, I was able to get 30 dozen on clearance at local Walmarts in my city for under $10 a dozen. They're perfect for my swing speed and I don't freak out when I lose one. 😂
The Titleist Tour Soft is a fine addition to this list but the price may turn some away from it
Wilson has won my multi year search for the correct ball. I’m 70, clubhead speed 88 on avg. Price is also a consideration as I still lose 1-2 balls a round. HC 16.2

Excellent work. Something for you to do on a rainy day Sacha is to research where these balls are produced. The "Foremost" factory in Taiwan is regarded as the best ball factory for QC outside of the USA. The Bridgestone factory is a close second. Seed golf balls are made at the Foremost factory and I bought 50 balls loose in a box for £105 plus delivery. The SD05 is very soft but the SD01 also has a nice soft feel even though the compression is firmer. I can recommend the Bridgestone Tour B RXS although nearer £40 per dozen. Excellent video

I like the Sirxon AD333 or the Titleist Tour Soft, I wait for them to go on sale so $30-35 C$ a dozen is ok for me.

I went for a full bag fitting in February and my fitter suggested I should try Wilson Triads. He wasn't wrong as not only has me distance improved, but also dispersion. I also use Srixon AD333. 71 year old senior with a slow 80mph swing speed.
I am over 65, swing speed around 80 to 85 MPH. I am a 3 HCP. Does not matter what ball I play, I see no difference in low compression vs PRO V1. Buy what you want, your Swing Speed will always dictate how far you hit the ball.
Today's golfer robot testing all balls proves what you are saying is untrue and a 117 compression tp5x was going further at 78 mph than the callaway

You should try the MaxFli Softfli golf ball , 38 compression. MaxFli has an excellent line of golf balls. MGS gave them a very good review.
i've been golfing a very long time and for much of it I would play used or balls I find in the woods except in my yearly tournaments. my friend said that you really hurt yourself playing used balls because of the questionable actual condition and the consistency factor. I am now playing balls right out of a box and I buy Pinnacle soft which are about $20 bucks U.S. for a fifteen ball pack and they seem a decent all around ball for me. i'm like a 15 cap, 76 years old and hit a 7 ireon 140 and carry a drive about 200 on the fly.. thnx for the info and show and I live in Massachusetts. good golfin' to ya.
