TIGARD Ore. (KPTV) – Two hot air balloons made unscheduled landings in Tigard ahead of the Tigard Festival of Balloons, which begins Friday, according to the Tigard Police Department.

Police said officers confirmed everyone landed safely after the balloons encountered a lack of wind that caused altitude issues. One balloon landed on hole 8 of a Tigard golf course, while another came down in the Edgewater neighborhood.

Officials said no emergency response was needed. King City Police responded to one controlled landing, and the balloons were being followed by the company’s support vehicles.
