Kai Trump’s basic Knicks box meal with Donald unveiled after being hit with backlash

Kai Trump showed off her very basic meal when she headed out to watch the Knicks alongside her grandfather, President Donald Trump.

Kai, 19, is known for vlogging the details of her life and made no exception when she attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on June 8, during which the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs faced off. After an impressive winning streak, the Knicks lost the game to the Spurs with a final score of 115-111, with many fans blaming the loss on President Trump’s attendance.

On her YouTube account, Kai posted a clip titled, “I went to the Knicks game with my Grandpa (POTUS)” as she shared her experience attending the game alongside her grandfather, 80. In the 16-minute-long vlog, Kai shared footage of herself exploring the Big Apple, picking out her outfit for the game, and clips of the Knicks playing as she sat next to Trump in a suite.

She also gave a glimpse of the very simple food she enjoyed as they sat in their box seats in the video. She showed off a messy-looking hot dog on a napkin alongside some prosciutto, before also showing off a clear plastic cup filled with gummy candy.

The visit to the game caused a real backlash from fans for the president, with extreme security measures put in place in order to escort him in and out of the arena safely.

In order for Trump and his family to attend the basketball game, there were heightened security measures surrounding Madison Square Garden. Starting at 4 p.m. on the day of the game, the area between West 30th and West 35th Streets from Sixth to Eighth Avenues was shut down to most pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

These intense security measures impacted more than 600,000 commuters who travel through Penn Station, which is located directly below the MSG arena.

In addition to this disruption, numerous watch parties near the area were canceled, and ticket prices for the game skyrocketed.

Reporters and ticket holders were also required to pass through multiple security checkpoints and TSA-style magnetometers in order to enter the building. Due to these increased security measures, there were long queues for the game that reportedly stretched around the block and caused delays.

While Kai didn’t talk about these specific details in the video, she did include numerous clips of herself being escorted through closed-down blocks with a bodyguard in order to enter the building to meet Trump. While inside the building, Kai also shared video footage of herself standing next to Trump as they cheered on the Knicks.

In addition to Kai, Trump was also joined by Knicks owner James Dolan, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy at the NBA Finals game.
