I decided to remove my irons from my bag and replace them with a much more forgiving option. I tested a full bag of hybrid irons Gap wedge – 3 Hybrid to see if they made golf easier, the results are astonishing.

How do these compare to Cobra T Rail 3 sets?
As a single digit handicap, I have the 5, 6, 7 Eleven hybrids. There was a learning curve but now I love them. I trialled the 9 hybrid and are really tempted. Think I would keep traditional wedges as I like partial shots with them.
My bag consists of a driver, 3, 5, and 7 woods, and 4 through PW of Majek Hybrids, plus a chipper and a flipper. I have been using them for the past two seasons, and this current season. I love the hybrids. I could not hit a consistent iron shot. I'm 79 years old, and they suit me just fine.
I'm old school have been using cobra t rails "hybrid irons"for a few years now and I wouldn't go back ,I don't give a hoot what my playing partners say I let the clubs speak, 2 of my mates have traded up to the t rails, I enjoy my game a lot more these days I also had a 7 wood before they were common and have just purchased a 9 wood.
Liked and hyped. Interesting video Andy. I’m all for making golf easier. I did have 3 – 7 hybrid (not Eleven’s) but I just didn’t hit them well apart from the 7 hybrid, which I’ve kept. I now have 5, 7, 9 and 11 woods (your reviews helped me here). Keep up the good work!
I have the 11 hybrids 4h to PW
I still have 52, 56 and 60 Wedges though
To be fair the 11 PW Hybrid is very good. As good if not better than my 48 deg PW iron
It's a shame that they cannot be tried out at some of the retailers as they are online purchase only.
I already have 3-GW in ELEVEN hybrids PLUS the XCL2 (3 wood equivalent) fairway hybrid & had them shipped to me in Thailand.
Just completed my bag with all hybrids. In my case a serious rupture in one of the tendons in my shoulder meant that the last thing I want to do is jam irons into the turf behind the ball. The hybrid slides nicely through the grass and there’s less stress on my shoulder, which means I can get back to golf after eight months of rehab. But thank you: you’re absolutely right. It’s an absolute joy using them. One other thing: what a great sensation it is when you hear and feel the face of a hybrid club contacting the ball
Great video Andy , I'm supposedly a scratch golfer who's struggled with irons all the time , would be great to see a review of the hb irons Eleven produce . I'm close to purchasing them but only seeing reviews on YouTube from scratch golfers getting fitted with higher swing speeds , keep up the good work 🏌🏼♂️🏌🏼♂️
I am seriously considering changing my 6 to PW irons to Eleven hybrids. My club head speed is just not high enough to launch irons and get proper distance, 120 yds with an 8 iron from a decent shot and mid ball flight? Not good. The game is too much about tradition and ego, instead of making it enjoyable and easier, if these clubs can lower my mid handicap and bring a few competition wins, I can stand the derogatory comments about using them.
Well done Andy …isn't golf about enjoyment end of the day …my bag pretty standard my 5 iron is a GI then T150s they are easy to hit trust me driver 5 wood 22 hybrid 2 wedges 👌 I still rock a TM Big foot wedge had it since 2020 wearing it out so off for a refurb that club is a chest stick for me
Roll and bulge a good thing on hybrids
I respect your decision. However I am more interested in the challenge than the score. I play clubs ranging from 1971 Ben hogan to 2004 tm R7s . Considering buying some hickory set this year! I am blessed with center sweet spot contact. Forgiveness is not desired – çan still hit 4i blade pin high to 150 meters not very high but a good stinger. I have a bag of Nike OSS sling shots that hit themselves, but will take them out when I turn 80 in twenty years. Joy to all.
How you've not hit that sheep in the kipper is the best endorsement of the control of these clubs!
I’ve had a complete set of Eleven clubs for well over a year including the gap wedge. Never going back.
Nice channel Andy, good to meet you in Scotland last September.
Brave sheep.
Hope you enjoyed Kington Andy
I have em 4-8i. If I had the cash I would’ve got the 9 & PW for the set. I love mine
My bag contains the Eleven from 6 to P. They are great. Callaway Opus wedges in 50, 54 and 58 (soon replaced by Miura wedges), Ping G440 Hybrids 6 & 5 + TM QI4D 9 wood, a TM R7 Minidriver or a TM QI4D 5 wood + Titleist GT1 driver and a TM ZT Spider putter. I have changed all grips to JumboMax (JMX Ultralite SJ) and this has given me a much straighter, higher ball flight + added length. Gamechanger for me at least 🙂
I'm open to try clubs out but until I need to, something like this is not going into my bag. Yes it could possibly shave a shot off per round but it would also take away the fun and challenge of varying the flight of an iron.
A great alternative to these and basically an in between club is the Taylormade stealth hd , a hybrid iron set , look great , easy to use .
I bought a 7 & 9 from Eleven a couple of months ago to try out. They are great and saving me shots, definitely recommend anyone struggling with irons to test them out.
They look to work really well👍 the course looks nice!
00:44 Totally agree. I made my own hybrid/wood set from Callaway over the winter. I took out my 5-8 irons this year and went with 24 degree, 30 degree, and 36 degree hybrids, and a 22 degree 7 wood. It's working so well, I'm about to get a 39 hybrid and dump my 9 iron.
I picked up a brand new set of Hogan AHS (All Hybrid System) 5-SW. They were made in the 90s. They have been a game changer for me.
Made the move in April to Eleven golf clubs and your spot on with your comments. Just focus on tempo and let the clubs do the rest. Quality product and Can’t recommend them enough.
A golf course with sheep! Where are you?
Great seeing you again Andy!
bet they dont stay in bag !!
Wondered how many of you sre playing the Eleven hybrids? How are you liking the clubs? Are you hitting them as well as the big name clubs?
I carry 5 clubs and walk 9…..4hy ,7hy, 9iron LW, putter….It simplifies things…I play fast ….shoot low 40's (9 holes)….age 62……..when I grew up.cart.were for the elderly……
Thought provoking video so well done. If you 'dumped all your irons for a month' how did you get on in any steep faced bunkers ? Surely you bunkered at least one approach. I love this concept though, but i think you would need a sand iron. Also was it possible to open the face and cut the ball up with the lower lofts when short sided and a bunker in front and similar situations. But again, interesting video Andy
