The message was Woods’s first public statement since March 31, when he announced he was stepping away to seek treatment following his DUI arrest and rollover crash in Florida. Now, new details have emerged about his “intense” 90-day rehabilitation program in Zurich, Switzerland .
According to a source close to Woods’s girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, the 15-time major champion is receiving both physical and psychological attention at a facility in Zurich. “He’s got a pain management doctor who is helping him deal with his body pain without addictive opioids,” the source revealed .
Woods briefly returned to Florida in mid-May,reportedly to support Trump, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer,before flying back to Switzerland to complete his rehabilitation . His first court appearance on the DUI charges is scheduled for July 7 .
The PGA Tour Champions is ready for Woods if he chooses to play. “The answer is yes, we’re ready,” said tour president Miller Brady. “Given the last surgery, I just hope that Tiger gets back on his feet and is able to play golf again.”
