Foam Golf Balls & Garmin R10: Do They Really Work?
In this video, I test the popular Almost Golf Balls against the Titleist RCT golf ball using the Garmin R10 Launch Monitor to see if limited-flight foam golf balls can provide useful shot data for indoor golf practice.

Can the Garmin R10 accurately track foam golf balls? The results were surprising.

With a pitching wedge, the Almost Golf Ball averaged just 5.6 yards less carry distance than the Titleist RCT. However, when testing a 7-iron, the difference increased dramatically, with the Almost Golf Ball averaging 29.8 yards shorter carry distance. I did not even attempt to compare Driver, as the 7 iron ball numbers were so far off.

If you’re considering foam golf balls for indoor practice, garage golf setups, or simulator use, this video will help you understand what to expect from the Garmin R10. While Almost Golf Balls can register shots and provide basic feedback, they do not deliver the same accuracy as a real golf ball, especially with longer clubs. The results were ‘okay’ with pitching wedges and other wedges.
