An Oxfordshire golf club is preparing to host a major international tournament this summer.
Frilford Heath will host the R&A Women’s and Men’s Senior Amateur Championships this summer.
The prestigious international event will take place on the club’s acclaimed Red Course from July 7 to 10, bringing together some of the world’s top senior amateur golfers, with defending champions John Kennedy and Kathy Hartwiger of the United States expected to defend their titles.

“Frilford has a long and distinguished history of hosting tournaments, from an early Ryder Cup trial to recent Open Qualifying.
“The Club continues to invest in our three courses, practice and coaching facilities, and it is testament to the hard work of our team and commitment from members that Frilford remains one of the premier clubs and golf destinations in England.”
Frilford Heath joins a distinguished list of recent host venues, including Walton Heath, Saunton, Woodhall Spa, Royal Dornoch, and Ganton.
The championships, organised by The R&A, are open to elite amateur players aged 55 and over in the men’s competition and 50 and over in the women’s competition.
Frilford Heath, established in 1908, features three championship heathland courses across 450 acres, with the Red Course designed by JH Taylor.
The Red Course is featured in Golf World’s Top 200 Courses in England.
