TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Crews responded to a house fire and explosion near Golf Links and Swan in Tucson on Friday, June 5.
The Tucson Fire Department confirmed that crews heard an explosion from a shed at a home in the 2100 block of South Rosemont Avenue while responding to the fire.
The TFD said it is investigating the source of the explosion, but a TPD officer on scene told 13 News anchor Ashley Bowerman that it was a propane tank in the backyard.
While there were no major injuries, one person was transported to a local hospital.
The TPD said the fire at the home was under control as of 9:40 p.m.
A 13 News photographer at the scene said South Rosemont Avenue was blocked off and there were several vehicles from the TPD and TFD.
According to the PulsePoint app, a structure fire was reported at 2142 South Rosemont around 7:40 a.m.
The TPD’s Real Time Event Tracker said there was a check request made around 7:45 p.m., and more than 15 units were sent to the scene.
