  1. If you want to play reliable golf, train these 5 shots:
Tee shot in play • Fairway advancer • Pitch • Chip • Putt
And learn to read greens + start the ball on line inside 4 feet. Which of the 5 shots do YOU need the most help with?

  2. What has helped me as I got older and slower is the following.
1: Fairway finder of the tee – for me this has been a mini driver.
2: Ball in play with some distance – 7 wood and 4, 5 and 6 hybrid.
3: Knowing when a long club is still not getting me close off a fairway and halving that distance then playing the appropriate mid iron.
4; Short game – not trying to play fancy shots, just making sure I aim for the middle of the green so I can putt from there.
5: Also the most important part, find a putter that works for you. Test multiple styles of putters, remember the ones that worked, leave the store and then come back in a week, try the putters that worked for you again and confirm the results. Buy that putter and then practice lag putting.
    Thanks for a great video.

  3. Great mindset for an enjoyable round.
I'm going to spend a few rounds using the 5 and 6 iron off the tee on par 4 and 5's for a couple of rounds. My reliable baby fade with the driver is all but reliable lately after foolishly experimenting trying to move the ball left. I'm getting random pull hooks and sometimes on holes that can't afford it. My club is a par 68 and I've shot 87 a few times so I can give up some distance and still have room to improve my game through more control of the tee. Good luck for everyone's season
