Scottie Scheffler will have a chance to go back-to-back-to-back this week at the Memorial Tournament. That’s something that has never been done at Jack’s Place and has only been accomplished by 18 pros in PGA Tour history. If the World No. 1 really wants to be in the right headspace heading into Muirfield Village, he might want to consult Bobby Jones. No, not that Bobby Jones.

A longtime caddie and name twin to the 13-time major champ, Jones is a looper at “Jack’s Place.” And according to Columbus, Ohio’s WBNS-TV, he’s the good luck charm of all good luck charms.

“Jones says that he often gets asked by the professionals for advice around the course,” Adam King writes. “Four players who have played with him during the Pro-Am have gone on to win the Memorial Tournament.”

Jones has been caddying at Muirfield Village for 36 years now. Four winners in 36 years? That’s *takes out calculator* … one winner every nine years. Over 11%! Get this guy to Vegas or on your favorite player’s bag right away.

Of course, as a Muirfield Village caddie, Jones has had quite a few run-ins with Nicklaus, even caddying for the golf great alongside Tiger Woods.

“Hey, you’ve always wanted to play golf with Bobby Jones,” Jones said when he met the Golden Bear. “I said, Here I am.”

Heading into this year’s signature event, Jones stated that it’s “the best I’ve seen this golf course in a while.” But first, a quick warning for Scheffler and other pros who want Bobby Jones’ advice, you might have to find him first:

“First thing I do when I get here is go and hide because good caddies are hard to find.”
