2026 Memorial Tournament tee times, TV coverage, viewer’s guide – Australian Golf Digest

It’s the 50th anniversary of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, which means a few things:

1. Scottie Scheffler is going for yet another signature event victory.

2. A loaded field taking on the vaunted Jack Nicklaus/Desmond Muirhead design.

3. Milkshakes.

With the Shinnecock Hills U.S. Open rapidly approaching, this is a chance for the best of the best to get a win under their belt to start a hot June.

This is the course that Jack built, and rebuilt, and rebuilt again and again. Since its opening in 1974, Jack Nicklaus has remodeled every hole at Muirfield Village, some more than once, using play at the PGA Tour’s annual Memorial Tournament for some guidance. The renovation in 2020 was one of the most extensive and included the rebuilding of every hole, the shifting of greens and tees, strategic changes to the iconic par 5s and a new, more player-friendly par-3 16th, though that hole, too, has been tweaked since. That’s how a championship course remains competitive. But with every change, Nicklaus always made sure the general membership could still play and enjoy the course.

After a one-shot win in 2024 and a four-stroke victory last year, Scheffler will be going for his first-ever PGA Tour three-peat. Only 18 men have accomplished that ridiculous feat, with the most recent coming from Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic between 2009 and 2011. Tiger Woods, of course, has six three-peats, including four-peats at both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Farmers Insurance Open.

Standing in the way of Scheffler’s latest opportunity at golf immortality are eight others from the OWGR top-10: Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, Russell Henley, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, J.J. Spaun and Xander Schauffele. So is newly crowned Charles Schwab Challenge champ Russell Henley, CJ Cup Byron Nelson winner Wyndham Clark and Chris Gotterup, a two-time winner in 2026.

While Scheffler hasn’t been the dominant force he displayed in past years, his recent success at Muirfield Village is undeniable. Last year, he shot rounds of 70-70-68-70 and joined Woods as the only repeat winners at the Memorial. Scheffler had just one bogey over his final 40 holes.

This week’s winner will receive a $4 million cut of the $20 million purse in this signature event along with 700 FedEx Cup points.
