In the 4th MK Korea Golf Course Evaluation jointly conducted by Mail Business and Korea Research, golf courses in Yeongnam region had a fierce competition for ranking as much as their various characteristics.
Both the membership system and the public system (including non-membership and public type) were honored as the first number one golf course. In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, Yangsan A1 Country Club in Gyeongnam ranked No. 1 in the membership system, and Seogyeong Tani Country Club in Sacheon, Gyeongnam ranked No. 1 in the public system. In Daegu and Gyeongbuk, Chilgok Farmi Hills Country Club and Blue One Resident Country Club in Gyeongbuk ranked first in the membership and public system, respectively.
A1CC is where the 69th KPGA Championship of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour will be held from the 4th to the 7th. A1CC, which has hosted the KPGA Championship since 2016, has steadily improved the quality of the course by playing major domestic men’s golf competitions. The golf course, designed as three independent courses along the ridge, maintained its best condition throughout the year with Kentucky Bluegrass planted teeing ground, fairways, roughs and ventgrass greens.
The same was true of golfers’ evaluation of A1CC. Among the evaluation items, 80.92 points were scored in both course management satisfaction, such as fairway grass and bunker management, and hole and course satisfaction, such as course difficulty and design, earning high scores in the 80s in course-related evaluations. Using this as a stepping stone, A1CC recorded a total of 794.22 points, becoming the highest membership golf course in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
A1CC followed A1CC with a total of 790.39 points, with 81.94 points in satisfaction with the beauty of the golf course. Dongbu Mountain CC in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, Bayside GC in Busan, and Dongnae Benest CC in Busan were also listed in the top five member systems in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
Seogyeong Tani CC, which achieved the No. 1 popularity in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, is well known as a course designed by Brian Costello, president of the American Golf Course Designers Association. Seogyeong Tani CC, which features a club house composed of traditional hanok, scored 78 points in satisfaction with the aesthetics of the golf course, the highest score among popular golf courses in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
South Cape CC in Namhae, South Gyeongsang Province, the representative public golf course in the Yeongnam region, followed with 751.14 points, while Miryang Espark Golf Resort, Busan Stonegate CC, and Gimhae Evergreen GC ranked third to fifth in the public festival.
Farmi Hills CC, which has been considered a “quiet powerhouse” among Daegu and Gyeongbuk membership golf courses, ranked first (781.75 points) in the region for the first time in this evaluation. Blue One Sangju CC, which achieved the top popularity (737.15 points), is a golf course with comfortable resort-type facilities. For the golf course, which features European Alpine-style detached villas and restaurant designs reminiscent of mansions, golfers gave relatively good scores in staff service (75.73 points), aesthetics (75.06 points), and operating facilities (75.06 points).
