Donald Trump’s granddaughter granted restraining order against alleged stalker

President Donald Trump’s eldest grandchild, Kai Trump, has been granted court-ordered protection from a man she accused of trying to get close to her before she heads to college, Wonderwall.com can report.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 19-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa Trump filed for a restraining order against 26-year-old Gabriel Garza Jr. in Florida’s Palm Beach County.

A judge initially granted Kai a temporary restraining order in April barring the man from stalking or cyberstalking her and from committing any criminal act that could cause physical harm.

Under the order, the man is not allowed to come within 500 feet of Kai’s home or workplace. He’s also barred from attending any events she attends. Kai plans to attend the University of Miami in the fall, meaning he must also stay away from campus.

In her filing, Kai described him as “homeless” and claimed he “lives in a car in [the] area of Jupiter/Palm Beach County.”

A hearing had originally been scheduled for April 30, but Kai asked the court to postpone it because it conflicted with a milestone in her life. “My last day of high school. I can’t leave until 3 p.m.,” she wrote in a request to the court, asking for the hearing to be rescheduled for the following week.

The hearing was later moved to May 14, when the judge extended the restraining order for two years. As part of the court order, the man was also instructed to surrender any firearms in his possession.

The frightening situation is not the first security scare involving Kai.

In June 2025, 23-year-old Texas resident Anthony Reyes was detained after scaling a wall surrounding the president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. Authorities said he told officers he wanted to “spread the gospel” to the president and “marry Kai,” according to police reports cited by NBC News.

The Secret Service later confirmed the man triggered alarms after climbing a perimeter fence and entering the property without authorization. “No Secret Service protectees were present at the time of this incident,” a spokesperson for the agency said in a statement at the time.

According to the arrest report, he had previously been accused of trespassing at Mar-a-Lago during a separate incident on New Year’s Eve 2024.

He was later sentenced to one year of probation.

Kai’s graduation

Despite the legal ordeal unfolding behind the scenes, Kai has continued sharing major life milestones publicly in recent weeks.

She gave her social media followers a behind-the-scenes look at her high school graduation from the Benjamin School on May 15. Her YouTube vlog also appeared to reveal which famous family members attended — and which appeared to skip — the big event.

Kai’s parents were both present for her big day, along with several siblings and extended family members. Don Jr.’s then-fiancée, Bettina Anderson — who days later became his second wife — was spotted sitting with Kai’s aunt Tiffany Trump and Tiffany’s husband, Michael Boulos.

However, several notable members of the Trump family appeared to be absent from the graduation festivities.

The president, first lady Melania Trump and their son, Kai’s uncle Barron Trump, did not appear in the vlog. Kai’s aunt Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner — who live about 90 minutes away on Indian Creek Island with their three children — were also not in Kai’s video.
