In This Video, You’ll Discover:
• How to hit irons consistently by eliminating the excessive head and spine drift that kills solid contact
• The “head in the circle” principle that separates efficient golf swings from energy-leaking amateur motion
• A simple sternum drill — no range required — that trains stable axis feels for both the backswing and downswing
• Exactly what “shoulder down, chest up” means and why it’s the most reliable golf tip for keeping your low point consistent
• How to use the Swing Coach AI app to verify your spine movement in real time so your feels match your reals
• The counterintuitive reason your spine must work opposite to your arms — and how mastering this transforms iron striking
• How these same golf drills scale directly to driver so you build one repeatable motion across every club

Eric Cogorno draws on 20 years of coaching experience to break down the single most common cause of inconsistent iron play: an unstable axis swing. In this golf lesson, Eric introduces the stable vs. unstable axis framework and teaches the shoulder-down, chest-up drill that keeps the head in the circle on both sides of the swing — the same movement pattern seen in elite ball strikers. Whether you’re learning how to play golf or rebuilding a swing you’ve had for years, the Swing Coach AI app is featured throughout as a real-time feedback tool to confirm spine position and catch the errors feel alone can miss.

  1. Eric, my spine instability is more in the other direction, I move towards the ball too much in the downswing instead of this face on lateral movement, how do we address that fault?

  2. Eric I’m always confused on the takeaway. Sure everyone says to match the club head with the spine angle all the way… but when I see it at the top, I swear I always see some forearm rotation. It seems quite “locking” or “rigid” if I try to keep the clubhead facing the camera behind you
