The BlueTees Player Pro Golf GPS speaker costs $200, with an additional $50 annual subscription. This device aims to consolidate a speaker, GPS, rangefinder, and caddy into one unit, targeting cart golfers who desire integrated music, GPS, and scoring. It is not suitable for those who dislike subscriptions, primarily walk, or only need basic yardage. The Player Pro comes preloaded with over 42,000 courses worldwide and uses True Distance technology, factoring in slope and wind for a play distance. GPS accuracy is reliable, matching dedicated handheld units, though minor update delays can occur when moving quickly. The device features a dual driver setup for 360° sound, providing clear audible GPS calls and filling the cart without sounding harsh. Its audio quality is a significant strength, though Blue Tees does not publish the wattage, unlike competitors such as the Bushnell Wingman HD, which specifies 30 watts.

The Blue Tees app is abysmal.
Apple Watch (Series 10): The watch app is super buggy and doesn’t always save your scores. It switches holes (even if you have that feature turned off) and randomly turns off the screen on my Series 10 Apple Watch. It also doesn’t allow you to track penalty strokes from the app.
The App (iPhone 16 Pro Max): many of the same watch problems are also on the app. The auto hole switch feature doesn’t always turn off. It randomly turns itself back on. The app is very clunky and not intuitive at all. 18Birdies app is much easier to use and far more intuitive to use. There’s far too many hidden pages under icons and the icons to tap are too small. The speaker also decides to randomly stop updating distances and has to be turned off and on to reset. This happens at least once a round.
As far as the sound, it’s ok. The touch responsiveness is ok. Again, too many screens to scroll through. For example, when you get to a new hole, it has a screen with the hole number and front, middle, back distances…then, after a few seconds, it auto scrolls to the next screen to a screen without the hole number, but with the F/M/B distances. What’s the point? Just keep it on the previous screen and eliminate the secondary screen. Very poorly thought out. Score keeping on the speaker RARELY works. Never updates on the phone app.
I’ve had mine for a year and it’s getting sold very soon. Will likely go back to 18Birdies and a Bluetooth speaker. Much better combo.
Btw, it’s pronounced MILE-SAY.
