The 2026 Callaway Chrome Tour X is finally here, and today we’re putting it head-to-head against one of the most talked-about golf balls of the last year — the 2025 Chrome Tour Triple Diamond. In this full review and comparison, we test both premium Callaway golf balls across every major category including driver distance, ball speed, iron spin, wedge control, greenside performance, feel, durability, forgiveness, and on-course consistency.
The new Chrome Tour X features Callaway’s updated Tour Fast Mantle technology, designed to increase ball speed while maintaining elite-level spin and control for faster swing speeds. Early testing has shown higher wedge spin, a flatter iron flight, and improved overall consistency compared to previous generations.
Meanwhile, the Chrome Tour Triple Diamond has developed a strong reputation among high-speed players looking for lower driver spin, penetrating launch, and maximum distance. Many golfers compare it to low-spin tour favorites like the Pro V1x Left Dash due to its firm feel and piercing ball flight.
In this video we cover:
Driver distance and dispersion
Driver spin and launch differences
9 iron and 7 iron testing
60 yard wedge spin and stopping power
Greenside check and rollout
Feel off the putter face
Durability after full testing
Which golf ball is better for YOUR swing speed
If you’re trying to decide between the Callaway Chrome Tour X, Chrome Tour Triple Diamond, Titleist Pro V1x, TP5x, or other premium golf balls for 2026, this review will help you figure out which model fits your game best.

So as Nick knows, i WAS a die hard kirkland player, tried the 26 chrome tour and it played so well, my best score was 92 before, first time playing the chrome tour shot a 84, so that will be myngamer this year, hate the price, love the performance
Not a great call doesn’t seem like. But I never have a cowboy. I’ve never been consistent in my opinion.
Interesting results!
Any chance for a Squishy Competishy this year?
Great review Nick
NIIIIICK! I commented a few videos ago asking about deciding between more spin or more launch to help getting my driver up in the air. My metrics are from my Rapsodo MLM2Pro and for the best results they make you use the Callaway Chrome Tour RPT balls and I for the lift of me cannot get the driver in the air. Thanks for validating that I'm not insane. I would love to see a review of the Rapsodo RPT balls for those of us that are using launch monitors. Great work as always. I'm waiting for my SNYDER Aces to show up tomorrow so I can game them in my league tomorrow evening. Thanks in advance.
My old gamer, the older CT TD
Sorry for second comment Nick, I'm commenting as I watch. Any chance you could maybe put a colored dot on the line of judgement and put a matching dot under the box in the top left or right corner. With the entire box on the line it's kinda hard to tell where you're placing them.
Yes!!
Nick I’m sure you already know but if not the maxfli tour x ls just dropped! I already bought 4 dozen but regardless I can’t wait for your video that is sure to come!
Well I had a funny feeling about this review and you just confirmed it
Good review, not my range but still watch all the reviews.
Nice new “do”, Nick! Keep up the great work!!
If you go on Callaway’s website it’ll show their tour players and what ball they play. I haven’t found one that plays the Triple Diamond yet. I only know it’s what Phil Mickelson plays on certain days. Other days he plays the Chrome Tour X.
Also, I bought a sleeve of the Triple Diamond last year and hooked a 7-iron with it and felt like I pulled a muscle in my left arm! That was the last swing I took playing that ball.
hey brother great review as always, some feedback i would give, is to delete/ not use those chip shots that you are hitting fat, cause of course they will all have 0 spin. About half or more of the chip shots were fat on this specific video, which def would alter the results. Its much harder to tell fat shots from a mat, since the club pops up and you can still hit the ball vs on real turf where it will dig.
My way of donating to help you out.
love the shirt man
Love your reviews. I do have a question? When you setup your flightscope, do you have alignment points? Mine is setup on the same floor markings behind me every time. I also have an alignment marking on my screen (on the floor) that I use for aming and use it for the alignment setup for the Flightscope. I'm just wondering, as I have seen a few reviews where your alignment might be off. Unless you're slicing 60 yard shots 😂.
Why compare the X to the old TD? Why not compare the new TD to the old TD? This test wasn’t apples to apples
Having already tried the Srixon Tour Divide I know how much I loved them. Interested to see your thoughts. I’ve already ordered three dozen during their sale and will probably get more. I don’t know if it’s due to being able to see better with the divide pattern or if the spin is that great, but I was blown away.
Good stuff Nick ! Happy Memorial Day !
