It was a good decision to stop the fight, the referee assessed the situation and prevented danger that was likely to occur. No robbery at all, Rico fell twice and took time to recover.

Both fighters could be classed as robbed depending whether which way you look at the outcome that could have been in or after 12th round. Could nearly fall into a "FIX" fight. Compare this stoppage to Fabio Wardley against Daniel Dubois only two weeks ago. Wardley was allowed to continue taking excessive punishment yet Rico in his bout gets stopped for a minor 'wobble of legs' FIVE seconds before end of round bell…. and tell me, how FAR APART are the two refereeing decisions within the same month, May 2026 ?

1. Robbery (ref and cards), 2. Usyk landed 5 after the bell, 3. RICO IS KNOWN FOR HIS RECOVERY! RICO has been BADLY dropped numerous times and every time he gets up and recovers mid round and goes on to finish his opponents. Rico was NOT hurt badly just fatigued. He clearly had his hands up and was rolling with shots taking little damage. Plus it was stopped after the bell. The streams glitched and clock wasn’t shown. Rico would’ve survived the 12th and gone on to win. For everyone saying “he would’ve finished him..” no he wouldn’t. Usyk didnt do anything until the last flurry into the 11th. 11 rounds says he wasn’t gonna finish him. Rico took no damage at all for 11 rounds and his body and legs weren’t broken down from kicks or knees which hurt a lot more than punches. Rico has insane recovery. He recovers mid round so an end of round 30 second break would be like 3+ recovery for the average top 10 heavyweight. Rico has insane recovery.

When USYK was getting announced on stage I knew something was wrong. Maybe some injury or something, didn’t look like it was him. Regardless of stoppage, I think Rd.12 would have definitely been clear KO win for USYK.
