If more time at the range was the answer, it would have worked by now. If you want to break 80 not just once but consistently, you have to change your STRATEGY, not just your swing. That’s what this video is all about.

Oh yeah! I appreciate your videos Manu, you've helped me a ton with my adjusting my mental game. Excited for this video!
A lot of good content recently! Love the whiteboard. Also from the bay so hopefully run into you someday on the course
I love these videos so much the way you explain each point is so clear
Yes!!! 🙌
Where's Waldo? Oh wait, I see it.
I love this – would love to see what else you have in your quick start guide 👀
Thanks for all this! Lots of hard work and great info — cheers! (and Dave Stockton always deflects blame and blames lets say a missed putt on something else, maybe something he ate, maybe a bad night's sleep – its actually a great mental way to trick yourself into believing you are the best putter — it actually works — well for me at least. He outlines this approach in his Putting DVD with Ben Crenshaw)
Which part(s) of the video resonated most with you? Please let me know! 👇
Thanks, Manu. Great channel. I am newly retired and excited to follow your advice to go from a.13 handicap, to a mid-single digit handicap this golf season. 6 months at 1 fewer shot per round per month will take me to a 7. It's just a matter of working toward a big picture improvement plan, developing my Golf IQ and improving my decision-making and mental reactions on the course.
Thank you, wonderful stuff lol a lot of wonderful stuff.
Mate, I need to understand the biochemical. This is really important because if I get annoyed, or hit a great shot, I need a predictor. We all hear about how caddies say the short number from adrenaline, etc… tell me more!
Thanks, Manu. Great channel.
Hi Manu, I never comment on videos, but think your approach to this game ‘hit ball with stick’ is so insightful and inspiring that I have to give some more credit than just a like. Your videos are amazing along with your thought process and philosophy. You are a great teacher and I hope this video gets seen by many many golfers trying to improve. Thanks for putting in all this effort to make such good content and sharing your knowledge and experiences.
The biochemistry and changing philosophy/ identity parts were hands down the most impactful instructional moments I've ever experienced. You deserve like a Nobel Prize or something. Thank you!
I enjoy your videos. re: your very first item, I came up with the acronym SLEW for each shot about 30 years ago. S-tance L-ie E-levation W-ind . I apply it religiously, with an addition recently thanks to Scott Fawcett of DECADES fame, if I cannot make the trouble shot I am planning on hitting 90% of the time, I have chosen the wrong shot. Thanks again for a well thought out and well presented video, much appreciated. Fairways and Greens, bro.
Great summary for the journey to improving my golf game. 1% better every round. Cheers from Bangkok.
Great video. Loved the section on philosophy, something that i am making the most progress on over the last year and the scores have gotten better as a result.
Honestly, that was the perfect video while doing a regripping right now. Such a great summary with golden nuggets to listen to. Your voice and pace is perfect and I was shocked when the video was over. It seriously flew by. As a md the biochemistry part is spot on, as well as the one with nutrition/hydration. Would love a follow up video on that. I'm in the finishing process of building a more sophisticated nutritional/hydration plan for tournament days myself, and it looks more like a plan for marathons or other endurance sports. People really underestimate the impact on the physical and cognitive output, especially on warmer, stressful tournament days. Thank you for this great video!
I like that you're starting a newsletter. Your videos have a lot of stuff to digest in one sitting.
I see a lot of value in this presentation and I am right on the 80 line, half below, half just above last 6 rounds. Manu, you might be interested in a YouTube called "The Resourceful Coach" who emphasizes "expectations", check out what he calls the 12 Shots videos. He gives all sorts of data at various handicap levels and types of shots so you can keep your expectations realistic. Thank you for this video!!
Hey Manu, Dennis Clark from Moffett, we've played together a few times, I appreciate your content, especially on Philosophy! Keep it up and hope to see you out at Moffett again!
Great advice. My biggest issue by far is being my worst critic and am way too hard on myself on the course. Really trying to fix that flaw in my game.
manu, i’m not even halfway through this video, but i watched about 10 minutes yesterday and 20 minutes today, and broke 80 for the first time after work.
i was walking down the 17th fairway and just felt mentally tired, but i just decided to focus on the routine and take it one shot at a time the rest of the way and shot bogey -> par for a 79
This is great advice and coaching. I met a personal goal of getting to a single digit handicap last year, but have slipped back to a 10 this year and it wasn't because I am hitting the ball worse. This approach to strategy and the mental game is exactly what has changed. I am going to incorporate some of this into my rounds and practice and will give you an update in a few weeks.
Great structure to a lot of information. The resonation
Great well thought out video! One thing that I'm curious about are you thoughts on 'tempo'. Is it something you think about? Is it part of 'technique' or pre-shot?
Criminal this man hasn't got more views and likes
Another great video Manu! Love your systemic thinking and breaking things down. We still need to play that round we talked about. Really glad to see that you're putting out more videos and hope your tournaments are going well
Hi Manu, I'm in awe of your holistic approach to the game and the balance you have found between the physical and mental parts we need to work on. Trying to spread your Upbeat vibes around my Club. My wife wants to know who the hell is this Manu guy I keep talking about!!
