Nexo, a crypto wealth platform, has renewed its title sponsorship of the DP World Tour’s Nexo Championship, a professional golf tournament previously known as the Scottish Championship, according to an announcement made Wednesday. The event will take place at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, from August 20 to 23.

This marks the second consecutive year that Nexo has served as the title sponsor of the tournament, which now features a larger prize pool of $3 million. Nexo Brand Marketing and Global Sponsorships Manager Konstantin Rangelov stated that the Nexo Championship holds sentimental value for the firm as it was its first-ever title partnership. He added that a three-year agreement with the DP World Tour influenced the decision to renew the title sponsorship and to become an even larger part of the event on the Tour.

According to Rangelov, Nexo will be deeply integrated throughout the multi-day event, with its branding appearing on tee-boxes, leaderboards, and broadcast-facing positions. He noted that the DP World Tour team ensures the title partner is at the center of the event, offering a platform for maximum visibility and engagement.

The digital wealth platform maintains sponsorship deals with various sporting teams and leagues, including serving as the official crypto partner of the Australian Open tennis tournament, Argentina’s national soccer team, and the Audi Revolut Formula 1 team. Rangelov said golf occupies a distinct place in its partnership portfolio, describing the sport as defined by precision, long-term thinking, and a financially active global audience that the firm aims to reach.

Nexo will host a hospitality program at the event and will track metrics such as earned media, social impressions, and broadcast exposure to evaluate the success of its title sponsorship. The firm was previously forced to phase out its U.S. products and services after encountering regulatory issues in California in 2022. Earlier this year, the company announced it would work with digital asset trading infrastructure provided by Bakkt to re-enter the U.S. market.
