Zero torque putters have become one of the biggest trends in golf equipment, with L.A.B. Golf leading the way. But are L.A.B. putters actually better for your putting stroke — or are golfers misunderstanding what this technology is designed to do?

In this video, we sit down with Sonny Bergo from Pete’s Golf to explain what zero torque putters really are, how L.A.B. putters work, and which golfers are most likely to benefit from this style of putter. We also discuss why zero torque is not a magic fix for everyone, especially golfers who rely on more face rotation, arc, or hand action in their putting stroke.

We’ll also compare the broader zero torque putter trend, including newer designs from brands like Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, and TaylorMade, and explain why putter fitting still matters before spending hundreds of dollars on a new putter.

If you’re thinking about buying a L.A.B. putter, trying a zero torque putter, or wondering whether your current putter is right for your stroke, this video will help you make a smarter equipment decision.

  1. I was about to say "no" before even watching the video, but as the owner of a $600+ putter (LA Golf Armlock) it makes sense if it drastically changes how well you putt.

  2. When I got my Mezz.Max after watching Lucas Glover win 2 in a row, it was the first putter that put the ball on the intended line.
Only… what looked to me as the intended line turned out to miss left relatively often.
After watching the previous putter video here I got myself a Capto EZ, and that was the best investment ever for my putting.
I have a modest arc, but it turns out that my grip steers my putts to the left up till 10 feet, closing the face at impact. Above 10 feet it disappears. Funny enough my shot scope stats were showing already that I gain strokes on long putts but lose quite a lot on short ones. I changed my grip to try and take the right hand influence out a bit, which squared up the face at impact. Tempo also needed a fix (way too fast backswing) The stats over my last 4 rounds show I am gaining 3 strokes on putting compared to before, which is massive for this 13hcp. Almost broke 80 last weekend for the first time in my life. Hope I can continue it!
