  1. Worth mentioning if no one has yet that 15-time PGA Tour champion Mike Souchak played for Duke University, like Alex Smalley. He was a Pennsylvania native, two-time Ryder Cup player and finished 5th in the 1959 PGA Championship.

  2. Tipped Rahm for Masters, not tipped this week, obvious now!

Watched first 5 questions of Rory's presser, to think people who are paid to ask questions can't ask a decent question.

Thoughtful pod as usual. Like the BBC world service of pods, top class.

  3. Smalley is the only guy with any real pressure. Everyone else has the comfort of the crowd. As the day goes on, of course there will be pressure on each player that gets on any sort of a run and starts thinking…..I can win this thing. But to start, everyone will have the least amount of pressure ever in a major, at least for those with a chance to win, because if you go on reverse, you will have company and you won't be singled out as having choked. Great opportunities for the unknowns and journeymen near the lead, and great opportunities for the big guns. It has been an odd tournament, but someone is going to be a likely winner with a handful of holes left, and we will finally have our narrative.

  4. The greens at this course remind me of Winged Foot, as far as difficulty. Winged Foot just has insane undulations. I think that Aronimink just has smaller deadzones where as Winged Foot has more guaranteed 3 putt spots. I cant remember seeing so many missed short putts

  5. Can you stop making comments about well. I'm not sure if this player is playing well. From Lynn cuz we don't know what that means. They are great players. Just look at their stats. Stop saying because they're playing on another tour It's not validated.

  6. This is a free for all. Like literally half the field has a chance to win. Alex Smalley I feel arrived today. Anybody with his start would have collasped today but he came back to shoot -2. I think it will take between -8 and -9. -8 is a playoff and -9 gets it done outright. A lot will depend on the winds tomorrow. Alex Smalley is the last person a lot of the media/content creators expected to be leading. We had 5 rounds of -5 65. Felt like somebody was going to shoot a -9 if the winds werent there. I was just teasing when I thought the moderator blushed when Rory used the s word. I wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt given a talking to. Ever since Sergios tantrum, there is that code of conduct.

  7. 'Shit" isn't foul language – it's used by everyone, everyday, except in the homogenised world of tv. Good synopsis otherwise – I' like Aberg too and I think Rose may surprise.

  8. Of course a picture of Rahm in the thumbnail. Media are the only ones who care about Rahm. He turned his back on the tour so good riddance

  9. It's insane that your name is Lav but you keep holding that mic for absolutely no reason. Appreciate the analysis, but just clip the mic on. It makes you look like a 14 year old wannabe influencer. You also don't really need the windscreen inside.

  10. will you be holding your magnetic clip on mic for the full 52 minute tv edition 😆
Do you think there will be a winner at the end of 72 holes or a possible multiplayer playoff based on how close so many good golfers are on the scoreboard?

  11. suggestion: if the game of Golf is truly interested in seeing Scottie vs. Rory on Sunday in a major, then simply put them both on the same side of the draw. yes, i know that viewership is improved on the first two days by not doing so (as has been done in every single major going back), but you are far more likely to experience what everyone is most excited for.

  12. Rahm will not get it done – he was toast after missing his last 2 foot putt on 18. Aberg well never win a major until he learns how to stop giving away strokes around the green. He is way too lackadaisical the way he plays. Smalley will probably not be in the top 30. I hope Reed wins it and flips off the media (Brandel especially) as he walks off 18. I just hope that Rory McAttitude or Scottie Schuffler (worst footwork in PGA Tour History) does not win.
