Snell PR3 and PR4 Golf Ball Review | Is Snell Finally Back On Their Feet?

The new Snell PR3 and PR4 golf balls are finally here, and it’s time to see whether these direct-to-consumer golf balls can compete with the biggest names in golf. In this full review, I put both models through my complete testing process, including driver distance, ball speed, iron spin, wedge control, greenside performance, durability, forgiveness, and overall feel to determine which ball performs best and which type of golfer each model is designed for.

The Snell PR3 and PR4 may look similar at first glance, but they deliver very different performance characteristics on the golf course. One focuses on lower spin and added distance, while the other is built for golfers looking for maximum control and short game precision. From 60-yard wedge spin to full driver testing, I break down every category and compare the results side-by-side so you can decide which golf ball deserves a spot in your bag.

If you’re searching for the best golf balls of 2026, the best direct-to-consumer golf balls, or affordable alternatives to premium tour balls like the Titleist Pro V1, TaylorMade TP5, or Callaway Chrome Tour, this review gives you all the data and real on-course insight you need.

In this video I test:

Driver distance
Driver spin
Ball speed
7 iron performance
9 Iron spin
60 yard wedge spin
Greenside check up

Whether you’re a low handicap player searching for tour-level spin or a mid handicap golfer looking for more consistency and value, the Snell PR3 and PR4 offer some very interesting performance differences that could surprise a lot of golfers this year.

  1. I found the same as u Nick. 4 is better greenside, 3 has pretty much zero spin. 3 was better in every other way tho, felt like it jumped off the club better. 4 was too firm and very unforgiving. I think u should still chip on the turf since u brought in the 25yd pitch, just for consistency with lie. Also I like the % for chipping spin it worked great before

  2. You seem to be concerned with whether you're going to donate vs. the actual way the ball performs. The chip spin looked horrible to go right along with the compression tester.

  3. Great job Nick!
I will never play a Snell golf ball! MGS had a short about the 4.0’s being cut open and found the insides were different from the same box! 😮
So many better options out there!
