PGA Championship LIVE: Shock shank yards from fans as Rory McIlroy drops another crude reply

Bryson DeChambeau, Tommy Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre are amongst the golfing stars who failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship.

Aronimink Golf Club proved progressively demanding for some of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf’s leading players across the opening two rounds, with several high-profile names eliminated ahead of the weekend following their disappointing performances.

While a field of 156 competitors took to the greens and fairways of Pennsylvania on Thursday, only the leading 83 progressed to the weekend’s action. DeChambeau was one of the more unlucky heavyweights from the golfing world who exited the tournament after merely two rounds. The two-time US Open champion faced an uphill battle heading into Friday’s round, having posted six over par on Thursday.

And while the 32-year-old, along with golf enthusiasts watching globally, will have anticipated a late rally, the fightback never quite materialised for the Crushers GC captain – departing in T114 with an aggregate score of SEVEN over par. DeChambeau wasn’t the sole major contender who found the Pennsylvanian course difficult to master, though.
