COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – One person is in custody after a shelter-in-place order southwest of Patty Jewett Golf Course Thursday afternoon.
The shelter-in-place went into effect just before 4 p.m. for a one-block radius of 1300 North El Paso Street. The order spread north to Columbia Street and south to East San Miguel Street.
The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said officers responded to a man wanted on felony narcotics charges.
The shelter-in-place was prompted when police said he barricaded himself inside the basement of a friend’s house.
They said VICE and Narcotics units responded to the scene.
A search warrant was obtained, and the suspect was found hiding inside the home and was taken into custody.
No injuries were reported. The order was lifted at 4:51 p.m.
